Who we are

RAKN is a training app made in Denmark. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: rakn.nordic@gmail.com

What we collect

Your account

• Your email address.
• Your password, if you sign up with email. It's handled by Supabase, our authentication provider, and only stored in encrypted (hashed) form.
• If you use Sign in with Apple: a unique user ID from Apple and the email address Apple shares with us. If you choose "Hide My Email", this is a private relay address, not your real email. We don't ask for or store your name.

Your training data, meaning what you choose to enter:

• Workouts and exercises you create, with sets, reps, weights and rest times.
• Completed sessions: date, duration, distances, times, effort rating and any notes you write.
• Planned sessions in your calendar.
• Body weight entries, if you choose to log them.

Body weight is health data. Logging it is optional, and the app asks for your explicit consent before your first entry. We only use it to show you your own progress.

What we don't collect

• No location or GPS data.
• No contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
• No advertising identifiers, analytics, or third-party tracking.
• No data from Apple Health or other apps.

Rest timer alerts are local notifications created on your phone. No push service is involved.

Why we use it

Only to run the app for you: to log you in, save your training, and sync it between your devices. The legal basis is our agreement with you when you create an account (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

For body weight, which is health data, the legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)). The app asks for it in a separate prompt before your first entry. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings under Privacy. This permanently deletes all your body weight entries, on your phone and on our servers. Withdrawing doesn't affect processing that happened before.

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising, marketing, profiling or automated decisions. The only company that processes it on our behalf is our data processor, Supabase (see below).

Where it's stored

Your data is stored on your phone and synced to our database, hosted by Supabase in the EU (Ireland). We use Supabase as a data processor to provide authentication, database hosting and synchronization. Supabase processes your data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.

Your data may be processed or accessed outside the EU/EEA by Supabase or its subprocessors when necessary to provide the service. Where required, appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, are used.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. You can delete individual workouts, sessions and entries at any time. They disappear from the app on all your devices right away. On our servers they are kept, marked as deleted, so your devices stay in sync, and are permanently erased when you delete your account.

Deleting your account: in the app, go to Settings and choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all training data linked to it from our servers. Data stored only on your phone is removed when you delete the app.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email rakn.nordic@gmail.com and we'll answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

Children

RAKN is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is used, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
